:Make tremendous amounts of power on pump gas!
Water/Methanol/Alcohol injection commonly referred to as WMI allows you to make tremendous amounts of power on pump gas. The effect is similar to running 100 octane race gas or E85 fuel all the time with the additional cooling benefits allowing for more power than you can make on race gas or E85 alone.
The key to a safe and effective WMI setup is tuning integration. The BMS S63TU F90 BMW M5/M6 WMI kit integrates into the JB4 tuning system allowing for precise mapping based on boost, throttle position, engine speed, intake temperature, advance, gear, and other data elements available to the JB4 through its CANbus system. In addition, a pump flow signal is fed back to the JB4 allowing for a safe and smooth progressive boost mapping. If the tank runs empty or flow drops for any reason the JB4 will safely back down performance to avoid detonation. Boost is held low until WMI is properly flowing to avoid tip in knock common with non-integrated WMI setups. In addition, WMI can be activated or disabled right from the JB4 Mobile app , will automatically disengage during traction control or safety map situations, and WMI flow data can be displayed via your JB4 Mobile logging device.
The BMS water/methanol injection (WMI) kit includes a high quality Aquatec WMI pump made to our specifications, high speed solenoid with leak-free compression fittings, a WMI filter, and basic wiring and hardware.
For 1 gallon clear tank users that can mount with the pump in front of the firewall simplifying the install process. Alternatively, the pump can be attached to the washer fluid reservoir eliminating the need for a separate tank. NOTE no bracket is provided to mount the pump or tank and customers will need to setup this aspect of the installation on their own. For our development, we used zip-ties to attach the pump to the strut brace and connected it to the washer fluid tank. Customers may also choose to mount the 1 gallon tank in the trunk or to not use the 1 gallon tank and explore one of our larger trunk mount tank options such as the 2 gallon integrated tank.
OPTIONAL: FSB JB4 Water/Methanol Injection (WMI) controller
The BMS JB4 Failsafe Box (FSB) Water/Methanol Injection (WMI) controller allows the JB4 to control your WMI pump and solenoid for dynamic progressive flow mapping. It also allows the JB4 to monitor pump current to overlay it with CANbus feedback for tuning parameters such as fuel trims and fuel pressure to provide a comprehensive flow-based safety system.
OPTIONAL: AEM Water/Methanol Injection (WMI) controller
The key to a safe and effective Water/Methanol Injection (WMI) setup is tuning integration. The base kit includes the AEM water/methanol controller featuring large, turn-resistant knobs and larger numbering to easily set accurate start and full activation points, with covered status LED and test buttons for added splash resistance. A plug is integrated into the controller housing for mating to the redesigned wiring harness's positive-lock connector. The Boost Dependent controller housing has a molded-in, barbed nipple to accept a boost vacuum reference and color coded wiring harness.
