NGK Spark Plugs & Ignition — Canada

Priced in CAD • No duties • No brokerage fees • Fast shipping across Canada

NGK is a Japanese manufacturer and the world's largest spark plug producer — OEM supplier to Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Nissan, Mazda, and dozens of other manufacturers worldwide. Their standard, iridium, and laser iridium spark plugs are the correct OEM replacement for most Japanese vehicles and a trusted performance upgrade for modified engines requiring a colder heat range. At MyPartsGuy.ca we carry the NGK lineup, all priced in Canadian dollars with no import fees or brokerage charges.

For turbocharged and high-compression engines, NGK's colder heat range plugs (one or two steps colder than OEM specification) are a standard supporting modification for higher boost levels — a hotter-running plug in a boosted engine is a detonation risk.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need colder spark plugs for my tuned WRX or STI?
Yes — at Stage 2 and beyond on a WRX or STI, one step colder than the OEM plug is the standard recommendation. The OEM plug is spec'd for factory boost and compression levels. At higher boost, the plug tip runs hotter, increasing the risk of pre-ignition and detonation. The NGK BKR7EIX is the most common upgrade plug for Stage 2 WRX/STI builds — it's one heat range colder than the factory BKR6EIX and is widely used without drivability issues on street-tuned builds.

NGK iridium vs copper — which should I choose?
NGK iridium plugs offer better ignitability, longer service life (up to 100,000 km), and more consistent performance than copper plugs. For modern engines with coil-on-plug ignition systems, iridium is the correct choice. Copper plugs are appropriate for older carbureted and some older EFI applications with higher available ignition energy. For any Japanese car from 2000 onward, use iridium.
