FX100 is a street upgrade — sprung disc for smooth engagement, improved friction material over OEM. FX200 adds a firmer disc for Stage 2 power levels. FX300 is a performance street/track clutch with increased clamping load. FX400 is for high-power competition use — aggressive engagement, not suitable for daily driving. For most Canadian GTI/Golf R or Type R owners modified to Stage 2, FX200 or FX300 is the appropriate specification.
Does a Clutch Masters clutch require a new flywheel?
Clutch Masters kits are designed to work with your factory flywheel if it is in serviceable condition and properly resurfaced. If the flywheel has heat cracks or excessive wear, replacement is required. Clutch Masters also produces matching lightweight flywheels for performance applications.
