Remflex makes exhaust gaskets from flexible graphite instead of the composite or embossed steel used in most factory gaskets. The material compresses to roughly half its thickness under clamp load, which lets it fill the warped, pitted and machined-down flange faces that normally keep leaking no matter how many conventional gaskets are fitted, and it takes sustained exhaust temperature without hardening.
