The JB4 is a piggyback, not a flash — and that is the point

Most tuning rewrites your ECU. Burger Motorsport's JB4 does not: it sits between the sensors and the factory computer and modifies the signals, which means the ECU is never reflashed and carries no altered programming counter. Unplug it and the car is mechanically and electronically as it was.

For anyone on a lease, still inside factory warranty, or intending to sell the car standard, that difference is the entire decision. It also means you can move the unit to your next car rather than buying tuning again.

The trade against a proper flash tune is resolution — a piggyback works within what the factory calibration will accept. For most stock-turbo BMW, and the Audi, Porsche, Toyota and Mercedes applications BMS supports, that is plenty.
